TIP: Wage & income forms (W-2s, 1099s..) are not joint forms. W-2s/1099s are issued to
each taxpayer. For jointly filed returns if you are requesting for only
one taxpayer, only provide that taxpayer's name and SSN on line 1a and 1b. Leave
line 2 blank. If you provide two names, and only pay for one taxpayer,
you will only receive information for the first taxpayer on the 4506-T.
If requesting for both taxpayers, both must sign the request. Wage and Income
transcript from IRS include W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, 1098s, and 5498s. |
